PARK ST,
MOONEE PONDS.
A one-bedroom apartment reworked through a restrained material palette and simplified planning, focusing on proportion, light and surface rather than decorative intervention. The renovation centred on clarifying the spaces and removing visual noise, allowing the apartment to feel calm and resolved within a compact footprint.
The kitchen was rebuilt in Plantation Ash joinery, introducing warmth and natural grain while maintaining minimal detailing and clean lines. In contrast, the bathroom was conceived as a continuous surface, with microcement walls forming a soft, monolithic enclosure around simple fittings and natural light. Feature lighting was introduced selectively to define living zones and add depth without clutter.
The outcome is a quiet, considered interior — an apartment that relies on material quality and spatial clarity rather than scale, demonstrating how modest spaces can achieve a strong architectural presence through careful restraint.
